Physical Readiness
Physical fitness is an essential part of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps and contributes to every cadet's health, confidence, and success. Throughout the program, cadets participate in organized physical training and are encouraged to build healthy habits through regular exercise, proper nutrition, and adequate rest.
Cadets complete periodic Physical Readiness Tests (PRTs) to measure their progress. A passing PRT score is required for most Advanced Training opportunities and demonstrates a cadet's commitment to personal improvement. Success cannot be achieved through monthly drills alone—cadets are encouraged to stay active between drills and continually work toward improving their fitness.
Home Fitness Tips
Parents play an important role by encouraging healthy habits at home and supporting their cadet's fitness goals throughout the year.
